AUDIO: Dave East – Wanna Be A G Feat. Max B MP3 + LYRICS

It’s formally the Survival season as Dave East has pledged to release his long-awaited project shortly. East published two new singles from the album early Friday evening to get fans excited about the record: “Everyday” featuring Gunna and “Wanna Be a G” with Max B. For the latter, the two Harlem natives share verses about a youngster doing their best to live the lifestyle of the gangster. It could be asserted that the couple is drawing inspiration from growing up on New York City streets in their own life as they rap about losing friends, serving time, and getting caught up in the game.

Back in May, with his French Montana-assisted single, “Hold On,” Max B dropped his first album in eight years. Since then, the imprisoned rapper has been on a roll releasing fresh music almost weekly. When he shared his “Black and I’m Proud” James Brown-sampled single, Max B told Rolling Stone that he is no longer the guy he used to be, and fans should expect more mature lyrical material.

“I will transform from the old Max B into a powerful new artist with content display they aren’t used to,” he said. “I’m attempting to offer some substance to individuals.” Let us know what “Wanna Be a G” you believe.

Quotable Lyrics

If it ain’t ’bout money don’t wanna talk to you for free
He young but got the heart to be a G
He been put in pain they know his name all throughout the streets
